Film review!

Hi friends
it was interesting reading thru ur list of happiest day. as swati said many have felt happy when going out on a vacation. may be being out of monotonous day to day lifestyle and spending time with family and friends gives happiness. but there was variety too! i especially like swati's desc of riding with her father. but swati, elephant incident.. happiest day? weird! Thiagarajan's comment has triggered the curiosity. but guys happiest day shdn't it mean one particular day, not a list of days.
i wd like to you all to give a short review on life is beautiful, the movie we saw. pls dont retell the story all of us has seen it. just tell ur reaction to the movie.

Gandhiji post has very few comments. As these posts are not dependent on the lab class, i wd like everyone to respond to it. These will be taken as your observation and evaluated for the same.
Regarding the comments: i did not want text bk ans abt gandhi, but i ended up getting very effusive praise abt gandhi. may be all of u sincerely feel liket that!
Aditya's was little different - analysing the reasons behind assassination. the latest bk 'who killed gandhi' raises simialr issues. i am yet to read it.
shalini's style was lil different.
Can we have shorter postings - few are too lengthy. short does not mean two sentences but no essays pls.

Newspaper Assignment

This post is an announcement regarding newspaper assignment. you don't have to post comments. you can give ur group members name in person. the following are rules and regulations for this assignment.
NEWSPAPER ASSIGNMENT

 Each group should contain 7 – 8 members, not more than that.
 Lay out / design of newspaper should be in the format of regular newspapers like Hindu, Express or smaller version like Adyar Times / Mylapore Times
 The content of the newspaper can be general like that of regular newspaper or can be specific to an area. Eg. Adyar / Mylapore / Mambalam Times or College Campus Newspaper.
 General newspapers should have international, national, local news. It should also contain all features of regular newspaper. Entertainment, editorial, sports, cartoon, advertisements should feature in the newspaper. No fictional news in the newspaper.
 Campus newspaper should have campus information, career news, students related news, some important news items, entertainment, sports, anecdotes, fillers etc can be included.
 Visuals should be included
 Each student should contribute two items for the newspaper and duly acknowledge it.
 The whole group will be part of the editorial team with each one taking one responsibility like that of co-ordinating from other members, editing, printing, layout design etc.
 News should be printed in columns and should be printed on both sides.

Gandhi and you!

it was interesting to read varied comments about freedom in our country. Some of it was worth discussing it in class. most of you sound very idealistic. i sincerely hope by the time u finish ur college and start your adult life our country becomes truly free.
This week's topic is on gandhiji. On his birthday i wd like to know your comments abt Gandhi? As post-independent modern era children, Gandhi is history book figure. you must have read abt him, seen movies abt him. Comment abt gandhi. Dont give me text bk answers like 'he is father of our nation' etc. i wd like your honest opinion on Gandhi. There were criticisms against Gandhi at different points of time. so nothing wrong if u are critical. if u too believe he was a mahatma, tell me why you think so.
by the way, i wd like every one to comment on every posting. absentees on lab classes need not comment if the topic is on lab activity, like a review writing. for common topics like gandhiji and freedom of speech, i wd like to know all ur comments.

Hi guys
I got 34 comments, what abt others? Many students did not specify the professions but quite a few got it right. Read thru your comments! It was interesting to note varied comments ranging from interesting to not so interesting and interesting only in parts and non-existent humour(swathi)! It is each one’s preference so no issues. But still was the humour non-existent? And Swathi why use the word hypocrisy? By the way who is govindarajan? Good start for the first posting. Hope u all continue to be vocal in the coming weeks.
