Dear students This post wd like to discuss on one aspect of moral policing. we have discussed about it in class. i have only one question which i wd like u to answer. why is women seen as the custodians of a culture or country's honour? sujatha
I’m the first Why women? It’s simple. It’s called objectification. Women are treated like objects. For most men in most parts of the world women are treated lesser beings. May be women lack the muscle power of men have, but if men are truly superior in every sense, they would treat women well. Instead they curb women. This makes all men selfish and most women helpless. Men can’t differentiate between protection and opression.im still clueless as to why women are targeted by these moral police. So if anyone finds out a valid reason please keep it to yourself 'cos I don’t want to know, nor does any self respecting woman who knows how to lead her life. In our country “culture “is just a word for a man but for a women is a way of life. Does Indian culture advocate men hitting women in public? Does it preach violence?or targeting the helpless/defenseless????Well there are more burning issues in the country like poverty, child trafficking, and corruption to name a few. If these people (moral police) what to really safe guard the culture don’t you think they should be fighting against these issues instead of beating up innocent women in pubs??????????
Hi friends...... This is because of the attitude of almost all men and a few women. They foolishly think that women are lesser beings compared to men which as a matter of fact is an absolute nonsense. Women possess some natural strength which men can't agree so they tended to suppress them with their attitude and also have succeeded in doing it. No particular person on earth has the right to tell another person how he/she should lead his/her life. In such a case the whole of the men community saying the women how they should lead their life is totally insane. a nation's pride doesn't depend on the life of its women alone. It depends on the life of its entire citizens. Women are always equal to men in any situation. hope u all agree with this... bye friends....

Women are considered the costudians of a culture because male chauvinism is still present in all its glory.the moral policing done in India ,is only targeted at women.It says we have to dress in a certain manner and behave in a fashion framed by these MCP's.According to them this is our indian culture.wat is the definition of indian culture???? who defines these dogmas????? If this culture follws the bagawat gita /quran/bible ,can anyone suggest one instance from these wonderful manuscripts that supports the oppression and ill treatnment of women ????? which part of these books justify men drinking in public ,hitting women ,pre marital sex ???????
Yes, women are seen as the custodians of the culture. If you take a middle class family, mother will force her daughter to follow the culture, tradition than the father. From the ancient times, the women are treated like this. Don’t blame only men. If there is something happening to women, it won’t be because of men only, there will be some other women for the cause. Only a narrow minded people will think women as inferior to men and they are the symbol of culture. Instead of thinking about the past incidents; please plan to make a good society with broad minded people (like me). First educate people about the power of women and their achievements. The ram sena chief is nothing but a waste and he don’t have any right to speak about others and he is unfit to live in this world. The attitude of these people will change only when women achieves more than men.

hi ya as swathi said women are treated like objects,but not only the men may cause this ,there are some women.not in all the family this happens,there are some family who treat the women in better way.only the situation makes men to treat them badly ,but an exception.Dont blame always men.we should educate the people about the power and good things that they achieve. thank you

And I agree with what satish said, men are not only the reason for our problems bcoz i have seen my cases where woman creates a problem to spoil the other woman's life...( it is one of the example)it happens and they think that we are no way equal to men. These moral policies are mainly inforced on womans bcoz women are cosidered weaker section. people will come forward to criticize...but fail to solve(lets not be one among them). we(girls) can overcome it by achieving more and more.
many of my friends told that women are always under one step to men and some told that they r not , may be in olden day's womens were under the control of men but the situation has changed in these day's . womens were going to work and they r very strong in their decision, as the wordings says "men's are physically strong mentally weak" but women's are mentally very strong to take a right decision , therefore the way of dressing ect... depends on her own .the dressing sense is not only meant for women but also to men and as this is a independent country, none can question anyone and one should have the sense of their own dress code i.e the way how the should be neat in their dressing sense because the dressing sense determines the behaviour of that personality.

Hi friends, women are treated as custodians in our culture because the men are ruling the country. they want to be a king of this country.so they are not giving a chance to a women because,they know more about women power and their knowledge. so men are not allowing women to do anything by themselves.Men has to change their mind and they have to support women development in the following days,therefore men should not criticize women and they have their own rights to achieve everything in this world. My point of view in now a days most of the womens are not under the mens as manjari told that.May be it was happend in early days not now.In nowadays the womens are do what ever they want.But the early days womens want to get permission to her huband. Gandhi's wife also one of the examble for this.So in nowadays no moral policing. Ok bye friends.........
all of them are telling that women are treated as custodians....ya....of course...it is in the early days...when compared with earlier now it was reduced...women are shining in the many fields...when we see in the other point of view,women act themselves as custodian bcoz they have good caring and self respect when compared to male....even in my house my mom told me to work..she did not told any work to my brother...when i asked the reason,she replied "u are a female u have to work"..this is one tradition followed in all the peoples.....

So only in a family more importance is given for the growth of a girl child when compared to na men.I think this is the reason for why women is considered as custodians of culture or country's honour.
yes women are seen as the custodians of culture. because from the begining itself women were treated lesser than men. and basicaly the indian culture was framed in a way that it gave priority to men. so from then on women are treated by men very lowly.
